The Friends of Tavistock Library – Gothic Style Gnome and Pixie Model Making Competition
Tavistock Library is celebrating Tavistock’s Gothic and Neo-Gothic style heritage in literature and architecture with a host of events starting on the 12th of October 2019.
Pixies are part of our local folklore and Anna Eliza Bray (1790- 1883) was an English historical novelist, who lived in the Vicarage in Tavistock. She collected local myths and legends and Mrs Bray’s cousin wrote the world-famous poem ‘Goblin Market’.
